Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), 2010-11 Edition
Here is a link to some very interesting predictions as to where industries and jobs are headed over the next eight years. The Occupational Outlook Handbook (by the Bereauof Labor Statistics) is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives.
I remember when I was in High School being told that there would be no jobs for auto mechanics in the future (really), and at that time no one ever heard many of the career field that exist today. Still, I feel this is information worth checking into for anyone planning a career. We highly recommend it! At the Bereau of Labor Statistics site you will find statistical information for hundreds of different types of jobs—such as teacher, lawyer, nursing and more! The Occupational Outlook Handbook tells you:
- the training and education needed
- earnings
- expected job prospects
- what workers do on the job
- working conditions
